The Trade Remedies Department organizes a Workshop to introduce trade remedy measures and collect comments on the Draft Decree to replace Decree 10/2018/ND-CP

On July 19, 2024, the Trade Remedies Authority of Viet Nam (TRAV) - Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) organized a Workshop on Introduction to Trade Remedies Measures in Saigon to disseminate some contents about trade remedies measures; At the same time, collecting comments on the Draft Decree Dossier to replace Decree 10/2018/ND-CP dated January 15, 2018 detailing a number of articles of the Law on Foreign Trade Management on trade remedy measures with State management agencies, lawyers, law-practicing organizations, associations, businesses and relevant individual organizations.

The Seminar had the participation of speakers from the TRAV and the Vietnam Confederation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI from the South).

At the seminar, the speakers presented overviews of trade remedies according to Vietnamese law. In addition, the TRAV - MOIT, as the lead drafting agency, had a detailed presentation on the Draft Decree to replace Decree 10/2018/ND-CP. Accordingly, major groups of issues are adjusted in the Draft compared to the old Decree, basic content groups that require widespread opinions are also specifically analyzed by the TRAV to collect opinions of relevant parties, ensuring compliance with regulations on developing current legal documents, while ensuring the reasonableness, openness, and transparency of the Draft, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of relevant parties.

At the discussion session, delegates from agencies, organizations, businesses, and associations such as the Wood Association, Law Firms, manufacturing enterprises, and export enterprises... expressed their interest. Paying close attention to the contents of the seminar through the presentation of many opinions, exchanges, and comments on documents that have been, are being, and are expected to be promulgated as well as the application of legal regulations on trade remedies in the near future.

Receiving opinions from delegates, representatives of the speakers of the TRAV answered delegates' questions and concerns, analyzed both legal and practical aspects to support organizations, associations, and businesses in understanding overcome problems when handling trade dispute cases, limiting risks, and being prepared to proactively respond to trade law lawsuits.

In the coming time, the TRAV will continue to coordinate with relevant organization to organize seminars and conferences to disseminate trade remedies laws and collect public comments on the Draft, supporting businesses and agencies. State management agencies are more proactive in handling and responding to foreign trade remedy investigations as well as using legal trade remedy tools to protect the legitimate interests of domestic manufacturing enterprises. /.
