Training Course “Strengthening Capacity and Training of Officials on Trade Remedies in Combating Evasion of Trade Remedies Measures and Origin Fraud” in Hai Phong

On August 14, 2025, the Trade Remedies Authority successfully organized an intensive training course on the topic “Strengthening Capacity and Training of Officials on Trade Remedies in Combating Evasion of Trade Remedies Measures and Origin Fraud” in Hai Phong city.

The training course focused on providing in-depth knowledge on trade Remedies, especially the work of combating evasion of trade Remedies measures and origin fraud. Speakers from a legal consulting firm shared detailed information on how to build a litigation strategy, prepare data, and construct counter-arguments in investigation cases.

In the context of rapidly increasing imports into Vietnam, the application of trade Remedies measures is essential to create a level playing field and protect domestic industries. The training course provided detailed information on how to handle cases related to several imported industrial goods and raw materials, and guided participants on how to calculate relevant data.

Furthermore, the program included numerous practical case studies to help participants analyze the damage to domestic industries, assess the increase in imported goods, and evaluate their price impacts. In addition, the organizers arranged a field trip to an aluminum manufacturing company in Hai Phong City. This company was also involved in a recent trade Remedies investigation initiated by a foreign country. The field trip to the enterprise helps trainees understand and grasp the product manufacturing process, serving the purpose of early warning of goods at risk of trade Remedies investigations. Trainees are guided in answering questionnaires in anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigations initiated by the United States. This is a crucial factor in helping Vietnamese businesses improve their competitiveness and respond promptly to increasingly complex investigations from foreign countries.
